In a small car parked at the edge of a big city, Tokyo, there live a middle-aged husband and a wife, and that was all they had.

A husband says to his wife, “When we die, we will die in the snow. We’ll die in our hometown village amid a deep snow.”

Then, they start running the car heading for their village.

都会の片隅で車上生活を続ける初老の夫婦。夫はポツリとつぶやく。「死ぬなら、雪の中だ。故郷の村の雪の中で眠るように」。

老夫婦は故郷のあの村へ向かって車を走らせた。
