FLICKERING LIGHTS: Short Film Block

Inspired by The Physics of Sorrow by Georgi Gospodinov, FRENCH CINEMA tells the story of two women In a small country town who spend their time writing letters to Alain Delon in the room behind the screen at the local cinema.

Galina D. Georgieva is a writer and film director. Her first script, REHEARSALS won the First Prize at NISI MASA International Competition, 2007. She was a participant in the Sarajevo Talent Campus, Project Lab, Script Station, 2015, and co-production forum in Clermont-Ferrand, 2020. She wrote and directed several student short films and a feature-length documentary, selected at festivals in Europe and the USA. Galina also wrote the play Asteroid 35 111, based on the life of the Russian poet Marina Tsvetaeva. The play is currently staged in theater Vazrajdane. The play was also broadcast on the Bulgarian National Radio. Galina is a lecturer in the MA program at the University of Sofia.
