‘The Bike’ examines the nature of fear and anxiety during a locked down 2020.
Shot on iPhone 10.
Director's Statement
Prompted by the death of a close friend during a Covid lockdown, I wrote the initial monologue as a result of feeling low, anxious and lost in a world that had changed so much so quickly. Shot on an iPhone in the fields surrounding the village I was brought up in, this is a very personal film but one I think can have a very public engagement. I hope that the universal themes resonate far and wide to offer a moments hope and respite in a time where there appears little of either.
Diolch yn fawr.
Director's Bio
Cian’s debut short, ‘The Outing’ gained UK and US recognition, picking up 11 Official Selections and 4 Awards. He has since been commissioned by the the world renowned London Welsh Male Voice Choir and most recently written, directed and performed in ‘The Bike’ - a short film prompted by the all too often irrational nature of fear and anxiety in a Covid lockdown.
