Freshwater Feasts is a program of Michigan Sea Grant that helps individuals understand and appreciate seafood across the Great Lakes Region. In this session, Michigan Sea Grant curates a collection of short films that explain what aquaculture is, how it works, and some of the amazing products and recipes that can come from aquaculture. The session's final film is a fun amateur cooking competition where three individuals face off in a timed challenge to prepare the most stunning and accessible dish. Enjoy these freshwater feasts!
Watch as three Great Lakes area contestants face off in an exciting cooking challenge for the ages! Each contestant has hand picked a local aquaculture product to use and will have 20 minutes to cook and complete their dish. Each contestant will also have to incorporate a secret ingredient into their cuisine. Contestants will be cooking from their home kitchens as our hosts Titus and Elliot provide fun and engaging commentary during the competition. Two guest judges determine the winner based on creativity, presentation, composure, seafood in focus, and accessibility!
