ABOUT THE FILM: This abstract animation was created to represent Brooklyn, New York, for the 2023 KOSMA Spring International Invitational Exhibition “Floating City” at Seoullo Media Canvas in 2023.The piece is an interpretation of a morning in Brooklyn, where the sounds of doves and subway trains mingle, and the patterns from reflected light move to the rhythm of a city awakening. ABOUT THE FILMMAKER: Mike Enright is a visual artist with a body of work that includes painting, animation, and video art. Native to Philadelphia PA, he now resides in Brooklyn NY where he is a faculty member at Pratt Institute’s Department of Digital Arts. He holds an MFA in Experimental Animation from CalArts and a BFA in Media Arts/ Animation from The University of the Arts.

ABOUT THE FILM: This film continues Candy Kugel’s series of autobiographical films, which began with I, Candy (2018), followed by Miracle on Central Park West (2020). A Tale of Two Weddings chronicles the seemingly impossible task of attending two important family obligations taking place 48 hours apart on opposite sides of the world—one on the Jersey Shore, and the other in Jerusalem—with two very different families and traditions…or are they? ABOUT THE FILMMAKER: Candy Kugel, a longtime voting member of both AMPAS and the TV Academy, began her career at Perpetual Motion Pictures, a commercial studio in NYC. She has made over a dozen award-winning independent shorts which are all part of MoMA’s Film Archives. In April, 2018, “I,Candy” premiered there as part of "An Evening with Candy Kugel". She has created TV programming, educational films &amp; ads - most notably MTV’s initial launch, Talking About Sex for Planned Parenthood (AnnecyCristal), and WGBH’s Between the Lions (Emmy). It’s Still Me!” a 17-minute DVD has become a valuable resource for people with aphasia.﻿

ABOUT THE FILM: Grandad's face brightens at the sight of Cody, his transgender grandson entering his hospital room as he awaits his pacemaker operation. Cody asks Grandad how he knew it was love when he met Abuela. As Grandad and Cody begin singing “The Rhythm of the Heart,” the audience is transported back in time to follow the couple’s journey, from love at first sight to marriage. Through the song, Grandad tells Cody that “when it hits ya, don’t let it miss ya.” As Grandad reminisces about his love story with Abuela, he recalls that they, too, felt like outsiders in society, just as Cody feels today. Meanwhile, Cody goes off to play soccer, with his team just one goal away from the championship. In the stands is Grandad, who draws a heart on his chest and points at Cody. With his support, Cody scores the winning goal. ABOUT THE FILMMAKER: Christopher Lennertz has received two Emmy nominations, a Grammy, and twenty BMI awards. His repertoire includes compositions like the gospel piano in Thanks for Sharing to the soaring heroics in Sausage Party. From the biting action of Amazon's The Boys to the orchestral melodies in Steven Spielberg's Medal of Honour.Brian Vincent Rhodes is a USC School of Cinematic Arts graduate who garnered international recognition as a BAFTA finalist for his film Mosquito: The Bite of Passage. He served as a storyboard artist on Spies in Disguise and as lead storyboard artist on the Netflix/MACRO feature, They Cloned Tyrone.

ABOUT THE FILM: The true story of a couple driving through an unpopulated region of the New Mexico desert when they see something unexplainable in the night sky. This amazing and hilarious story, told by the filmmakers’ parents, is lovingly animated by hand and brings to life a family legend that remained a secret for over 15 years. ABOUT THE FILMMAKER: Jesse Willmon is a Filmmaker, Product Designer and Illustrator from Queens NY. He lives with his wife &amp; two kids and a cat who all helped him make this film. Currently a Senior Visual Designer for Bloomberg, Jesse previously worked at Girl Scouts, NBC, BBC America, Nickelodeon &amp; Comedy Central. His design work has won many awards including Webbys, HOW Interactive Awards &amp; Promax Awards. His speed drawing YouTube series for kids “Draw me a [blank]” was featured in the 2017 SVA Alumni Film Festival. “It Was Up There” is his first short film and he hopes you like it.

ABOUT THE FILM: Under the shadowy threat of war, a young Ukrainian girl awaits a call from her father and, as day turns into night, sinks into a dreamscape from which she must find her way home. ABOUT THE FILMMAKER: Born in Ukraine, raised in Nigeria, Polina Buchak is a New York-based filmmaker who focuses on inclusive storytelling by blending new technologies into traditional mediums. Her short Sunflower Field explores how the child psyche is impacted during war (Cleveland International Film Festival and won Audience Award at NFFTY). She was an Associate Producer for Aggie, showing the nexus of art, race, and justice through Agnes Gund’s life (Sundance 2020). Polina has produced a number of short films that were screened at Woodstock, Urbanworld, and DOC NYC as well as producing branded content for HULU, The Meteor, and more.﻿

ABOUT THE FILM: After constantly being beaten down by stress, depression, and his own exceedingly high expectations of himself, Alex plans to take his own life. But first, to find out if there’s anyone out there who would care enough to stop him, he puts a suicide note and a map into a paper airplane and tosses it into the city. When a complete stranger finds the paper airplane on a windowsill, it’s a race against time to stop Alex before it’s too late. ABOUT THE FILMMAKER: Marlene Ghuneim is an illustrator/2D animator and Class of '23 graduate at The School of Visual Arts. Her current body of work includes illustrations for personal projects, character designs, 2D animation, animatics, and storyboards. She is the sole animator and writer for "Lifeline."﻿

Previously, he penned the feature-length adaptation of the Oscar-nominated animated short film THE DAM KEEPER for 20th Century Fox and Tonko House. Prior to that, he wrote and directed the short film HOME which has amassed over 8.5 million views online.

ABOUT THE FILM: Jerry, an awkwardly plump hummingbird, desperately tries to fit in with his siblings, but more often than not, he only weighs them down, literally. After accidentally destroying the family nest, Jerry is exiled to an old dead tree, supposedly never to be seen or heard from again. But family always sticks together, so when a hungry house cat attempts to turn his siblings into a three-course meal, Jerry sets his sorrows aside and becomes the bird he was born to be in order to save his family. ABOUT THE FILMMAKER: Adam Reed Levy is an American film director, producer, screenwriter, animator and character technical director. He is best known for his technical animation work on Oscar winning films such as Frozen, Zootopia, Encanto and Feast.Adam entered the animation industry in 2009, starting out as a production assistant. From there he worked his way up in production management until he switched career paths and decided to learn the programs necessary in order to become a Technical Animation artist."Flutter", released in 2023, is Adam’s directorial debut, starring Alfred Molina.

Masha is from northern Ukraine, and holds a dual degree in Computer Science and Visual Art from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. "Little t" is her directorial debut and part of Pixar's co-op program.

Coming from a Fine Arts background, she sees animation as a unique form of art with the most powerful tools for self-expression. Art always served as a healing mechanism for Anastasia, and animation is not an exception. Every message and emotion has its perfect storytelling form, and she learns to convey all the palettes of emotions hunting her.
