ABOUT THE FILM: This film continues Candy Kugel’s series of autobiographical films, which began with I, Candy (2018), followed by Miracle on Central Park West (2020). A Tale of Two Weddings chronicles the seemingly impossible task of attending two important family obligations taking place 48 hours apart on opposite sides of the world—one on the Jersey Shore, and the other in Jerusalem—with two very different families and traditions…or are they?
ABOUT THE FILMMAKER: Candy Kugel, a longtime voting member of both AMPAS and the TV Academy, began her career at Perpetual Motion Pictures, a commercial studio in NYC. She has made over a dozen award-winning independent shorts which are all part of MoMA’s Film Archives. In April, 2018, “I,Candy” premiered there as part of "An Evening with Candy Kugel". She has created TV programming, educational films & ads - most notably MTV’s initial launch, Talking About Sex for Planned Parenthood (AnnecyCristal), and WGBH’s Between the Lions (Emmy). It’s Still Me!” a 17-minute DVD has become a valuable resource for people with aphasia.
