ABOUT THE FILM: Under the shadowy threat of war, a young Ukrainian girl awaits a call from her father and, as day turns into night, sinks into a dreamscape from which she must find her way home.


ABOUT THE FILMMAKER: Born in Ukraine, raised in Nigeria, Polina Buchak is a New York-based filmmaker who focuses on inclusive storytelling by blending new technologies into traditional mediums. Her short Sunflower Field explores how the child psyche is impacted during war (Cleveland International Film Festival and won Audience Award at NFFTY). She was an Associate Producer for Aggie, showing the nexus of art, race, and justice through Agnes Gund’s life (Sundance 2020). Polina has produced a number of short films that were screened at Woodstock, Urbanworld, and DOC NYC as well as producing branded content for HULU, The Meteor, and more.
