The Red Fish, 2019

An imaginative child, Salim feels like his family, composed of his grandmother and sister Farida, treats him differently. He does all the work while his sister only has to study. He learns that this is because of rules established by the red fish in his village. Farida tries to help her brother change these rules by travelling with him to his fictional worlds.


About the Filmmaker


Bassem Ben Brahim is Master's degree student in Techniques and Sciences of Audio Visual and Cinema at ESAC. He graduated from a Master's professional program in video editing in 2019. He has a degree in audiovisual publicity in the Higher Institute of Fine Arts in Nabeul in 2017. He is an activist and he uses art to defend human rights, especially for the LGBTIQIA+ community. He began his career in cinema in 2012, and he is a volunteer with a Tunisian federation of cinema-clubs since 2014. He is interested in screenwriting and developing new ideas through the creation of animated and stop-motion short films.
