ABOUT THE FILM:

An exploration of disability representation in Martin Scorsese’s 1978 concert film The Last Waltz, and a tribute to the one armed go go dancer.


ABOUT THE FILMMAKER:

Paula Stuttman is an artist working in painting, drawing and animation. Her work explores the realm of human experience. Subjects include disability, love (or lack of) familial bonds and humor. Her work in museum education with its emphasis on access, particularly in providing verbal descriptions to blind and low vision visitors, has influenced the performative aspect and the use of language in her time-based works. She is a part-time assistant professor at The New School where she teaches contemporary art and museum studies. Stuttman is represented by Good Naked Gallery (NYC).
