About making this film
I usually like creating fantasy or sci-fi, but for this film I went low-key and a little autobiographical. I made this film in a single afternoon, with nothing but my phone, a tripod, and a big empty beach. I'm sure what I was doing was quite perplexing to the people who occasionally wandered by with their dogs. I didn't have a script, just the central concept of wanting to communicate how unappealing I find the idea of "a day at the beach". From there I made it up as I went along, looking for inspiration from the landscape. Sure enough, my attempt to make the beach look uncomfortable was a very uncomfortable experience, as the sun, wind and sand were a real nuisance, and I was removing chunks of beach from my tripod and hair for weeks afterwards.
