Learn the how, why, and what to do, from some of the industry’s greatest animators.

In this keynote, director and producer HaZ Dulull, talks about pivoting from his live-action filmmaking career towards animated feature films and TV in order to stay relevant and proactive in Hollywood.

To demonstrate how Unreal Engine can be harnessed by indie filmmakers to tell high concept stories which were not possible to achieve previously without huge budgets and resources, Dulull will share his experience using Unreal engine for proof of concepts that eventually lead him to direct animated feature films.

The case study will provide a candid deep dive into the creative, technical and business decisions Dulull has made during pre-production. This session is visually driven with a wealth of behind-the-scenes footage, breakdown of scenes in Unreal Engine, and exclusive footage of Dulull’s upcoming animated feature film Rift.

Hasraf "HaZ" Dulull

Director // HaZ Film

HaZ Dulull started his career in Visual Effects before transitioning over to directing and producing with his breakout feature film The Beyond. The indie sci-fi was released in 2018 and was number 2 in the iTunes Charts before being licensed to Netflix and turning into a profitable movie.

His second feature film, 2036 Origin Unknown, starring Katee Sackhoff, earned a limited theatrical release before landing on Netflix. He was then hired by Disney to helm the pilot for the action-comedy series

Fast Layne, where he also served as EP / Creative Consultant on the entire series.

HaZ is currently utilizing virtual production and real-time CGI with his latest feature film, Rift, a sci-fi action anime currently in production and rendered entirely in Unreal Engine. It is scheduled for release later in 2022.

He is represented in Hollywood by The Vendetta Group.
