Fraser MacLean is an animator, educator, co-founder and co-director of The Animation Centrifuge, and author who literally wrote the book on layout “Setting the Scene: The Art & Evolution of Animation Layout.”
Continuing his presentation, Fraser opens with a look at Hanna-Barbera's work right into 101 Dalmatians, exploring the use of simplified design, camera movements, and how Xerox changed the animation game.

In addition to being a part of the SAE México online teaching team, Fraser is also the author of “Setting The Scene: The Art & Evolution of Animation Layout” which was described by Total Film Magazine as, “…a museum, a film school and an art gallery all in one."
He has been working in commercial animation since 1987 and his screen credits include Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Space Jam and Disney’s Tarzan. Fraser currently lives in Guadalajara and has taught at a wide range of different universities, colleges and art schools in a number of different countries — including Costa Rica, Norway, Scotland, Lebanon, Ireland and Austria.

Animation Supervisor // Animal Logic

Dave has almost three decades of experience in the animation industry, working on some of the most iconic 2D and CGI animated films of our time. Dave is currently the Animation Supervisor at Animal Logic's Vancouver studio and has recently wrapped on The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part.
In 1991, Dave started at Walt Disney Feature Animation where he was an Animator and Supervising Animator on many of their most successful 2D films including Beauty & The Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King and Tarzan.
In 2001, he switched his pencil for a computer and started at PDI/DreamWorks, working as an Animator, Supervising Animator and Head of Character Animation. His credits during this time include Shrek 2, Madagascar, Over the Hedge, Megamind and Trolls.
Dave graduated from Emily Carr University of Art + Design in Vancouver with Honours in Animation.
