A woodsman builds a tower of bamboo to reach the clouds in order to be with his love the star fairy, but when the ladder collapses, they must find a new way to be together.

Director Biography - Jillian Vincent Valdez Cabrera

I was born in the Philippines and I moved to the US when I was 8 years old. From an early age, I was captivated by the arts and animation. What began as a hobby quickly turned into a passion that I continue to pursue to this day. I'm an aspiring filmmaker, with a dream of sharing my stories to everyone.

Director Statement

"After the Rain" is a film inspired by a Filipino folklore about the origin of the rainbow. This project helped me reconnect with my roots, and reminded me of the stories I heard as a young child. In a way, I felt that creating this film gave me the chance to make those stories more tangible.
