“My Tiny Friends” is a 3D animation about an artist who does not like her work. The video shows her inner space during her journey of artistic creation. The main character, Sasha, meets cute imaginary creatures that pop out from her imagination. But she destroys them because she doesn't like them. Eventually, she realizes that it is self-hatred that made her destroy herself and her world. At the end, Sasha learns that she should be happy by embracing her imagination and herself. The video unleashes the message of "loving ourselves" in a sense of wonder. Their films often surround the themes of history and culture. Janelle is studying Character Animation at California Institute of the Arts and expects to graduate by 2025. They have a passion for storytelling via 2D animation and aspire to become a professional animator and show creator. Outside of art, they enjoy reading about history, particularly that of the French Revolution.

When her mother ripped and trashed Eve's hobby script pages, Eve makes an important decision for her life. Director Biography -&nbsp;Lyly Thao Hoang As a Vietnamese filmmaker&nbsp;and visual artist, Lyly always finds a way to include her heritage into her artistic voice. It has been her dream to continue the long effort of many artists putting the essence of Vietnam out into the world, for people to see the true beauty of her home country. In her works, one can see all aspects of Vietnam, condensed into a mesmerizing work of art.

She loves to paint still stories onto canvas, and recently decided to extend those stories through film. She loves to cook and bake, but particularly enjoys the not very frequent event of making dumplings with her family. More often just with her mom who although is not Chinese, she is the best at wrapping dumplings in the family.&nbsp;Laura&nbsp;has attended arts school for about four years now. Starting at a middle school that required students to study all the arts, her love of film began once she auditioned for ESA’s film program. Since then she’s never looked back.&nbsp;

Director Biography -&nbsp;Mina Chacko <img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/eventive-static/bedd1562409e5a3c74e9d6f0b14c56ac.jpg" width="116">Mina Chacko is an aspiring character designer and is studying character animation at the California Institute of the Arts. She enjoys stories that explore and tackle the insecurities in our daily lives and her interest in this subject inspired the premise for her film, Overgrown. Mina grew up in a multi-racial household with influences from Taiwanese, Indian and German culture. Her mixed background has also made her interested in exploring multiple cultures as well as exploring mixed identity. She grew up in Dallas, Texas and is now based in California. Her other interests include world travel, ballet, and film analysis.
