Director's story
My name is Emily Whiting and I am a Year 11/12 (about to start studying HSC material) student living in Sydney. I am currently studying drama at school and I love everything to do with drama, film and theatre. This is the first short film that I have made and it has been a great experience.
I was inspired to make this movie during Sydney’s lockdown in Winter 2021. During a term of online learning, I struggled with online lessons and not being able to see friends. I was lucky enough to have better conditions than many who had much more severe lockdown conditions in Sydney. Even so, I still found it so hard to cope with the loss of my normal school life and socialising, especially as the lockdown, which was meant to be short, dragged on for the whole term and through the holidays.
