Directors' Statements
Eedi Mar Young:
This is the first film we have ever made.
Myself and Isabelle (Izzy) were friends from primary school and we met Grace at the NIDA workshop.
We shot mostly everything in one day. The next day, Izzy came wearing something different, so they had to shoot everything again! ha ha.
We asked each other what jobs we wanted to do. We each chose and there were no clashes. It just flowed.
Sometimes other people would come into the bathroom whilst we were filming and we were like arrrhhhhhh!
Grace Li:
When we were filming the bathroom scenes, it was difficult as there was only one bathroom and we took up a lot of time as we kept getting interrupted, so that was funny to me. And there's one shot at the end where Eedi is filmed from the perspective of a security camera and we had no way of getting up to the angle of the security camera, so that was a struggle to film, but we got it in the end!
I called the shots but we all worked together to come up with the camera angles.
There was a lot of points where no one knew if we'd be able to finish in time as everything took so long to do... but we got it!
Isabelle Glass:
It was very hard to film as we always had to be supervised and there was only one teacher there, so it was really hard.
There was one point when were trying to film the footsteps... me and Grace were on the bathroom floor... and it took fifteen shots as we had to pass it along and so we were trying not to shake the phone. That was an interesting shot to film.
