SIGNIFICANT is an attempt to make a chronological retrospective in only one hour of the films that in one way or the other played a significant role in the coming of age of The Animation Workshop. Showing the development of both technique and skill over a 30-year period, the program also reflects the corresponding development in Scandinavian animation over the same time span.

The programme contains some of the first films from today's established animation directors, such as Thorbjørn Christoffersen, Martin Skov, Kresten Vestbjerg Andersen, Tobias Gundorff, Rikke Planeta, as well as unscreened and raw gems from the years where it all started.

NB! Gamlebyen Kino is an outdoor cinema, so bring a warm sweater. In case of rain, the screening will be moved inside.

Age limit: 9
Alex, a young woman, is increasingly getting tired of adult life. Her daily routine is restricted by norms and expectations of the modern world, and human interaction has been replaced by social media. One day, she sees Bacchus, a charismatic sensual figure, who lures her into a colourful world, which is the complete opposite of her reality. In this mysterious place, you are free to follow your instincts and explore your deepest desires.

Rikke Alma Krogshave Planeta (b. 1993, Denmark) directed this film while studying at The Animation Workshop.
