SIGNIFICANT is an attempt to make a chronological retrospective in only one hour of the films that in one way or the other played a significant role in the coming of age of The Animation Workshop. Showing the development of both technique and skill over a 30-year period, the program also reflects the corresponding development in Scandinavian animation over the same time span.

The programme contains some of the first films from today's established animation directors, such as Thorbjørn Christoffersen, Martin Skov, Kresten Vestbjerg Andersen, Tobias Gundorff, Rikke Planeta, as well as unscreened and raw gems from the years where it all started.

NB! Gamlebyen Kino is an outdoor cinema, so bring a warm sweater. In case of rain, the screening will be moved inside.

Age limit: 9
Out of a Forest is a student film about a young rabbit who gets invited to a late-night dinner party in a forest. With lamps and chandeliers in the trees, the moon in the starry sky, and his elders around him sipping wine and telling stories, it all seems too good to be true and maybe it is. A forest at night holds many things.

Tobias Gundorff Boesen directed this film while attending The Animation Workshop.
