SIGNIFICANT is an attempt to make a chronological retrospective in only one hour of the films that in one way or the other played a significant role in the coming of age of The Animation Workshop. Showing the development of both technique and skill over a 30-year period, the program also reflects the corresponding development in Scandinavian animation over the same time span.

The programme contains some of the first films from today's established animation directors, such as Thorbjørn Christoffersen, Martin Skov, Kresten Vestbjerg Andersen, Tobias Gundorff, Rikke Planeta, as well as unscreened and raw gems from the years where it all started.

NB! Gamlebyen Kino is an outdoor cinema, so bring a warm sweater. In case of rain, the screening will be moved inside.

Age limit: 9
Warning: This film is only 30 seconds long. No intro-credit! It goes fast. So be ready and alert!
One of the very first films to be made at The Animation Workshop, The Solution was originally produced for MTV as a part of the campaign "If You’re not a part of the Solution, You’re Part of The Problem". The fact that the film was made in 1991 bears a scaring witness to the fact that mankind has known the consequences of human impact for a very long time, but not been able to act on it.

Made by some of the, later in life, leading Danish animation artists, illustrators, and directors; Martin Skov, Martin Madsen, and Kasper Kruse, when they were only 19 years old.
